Nowadays there is an increasing number of people taking the College English Test Band 6. They feel the need to further their English sludy after passing CET-4 and use the test as a motive and means to keep on learning English. Still there are some people who think it is unnecessary to take CET-6. They remain satisfied with their having passed GET-4, leave English behind and never study it again.I am of the opinion that we should take CET-6 for the followihe reasons:First, having passed CET-4 only shows that you have mastered the basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This is far from enough. We should aim high and achieve more.Second, with the development of national eeonomy, and the open-door policy of our government, there is an increasing need for using English to communicate. We should not only listen, read and write English well but alu speak fluently. CET-6 has a higher requirement of the examinees and can serve an a way to stinaulate our study.Last but not least, CET-6 is set by language experts in a scientific and standard way so as to evaluate a student’s English ability. Many enterprises hire empoyees with the requirement that they pass CET-6. So to be more competitive in the job market, we also need to further our English study by taking CET-6.I take CET-6 not only for the certification but also for the interests it arouses in me to better my Enghsh. Even after I pass the test, I will continue learning English.
